In this interview, Health Minister Enrique Paris highlights Chile’s mass vaccination plan. The strategy was launched in May 2020 with negotiations to purchase vaccines. Various ministries worked together to ensure that that Chile would have the vaccines it needed and would be able to deliver them to the public at this rate. Another key to the success of Chile’s mass vaccination process is the healthcare network and the country’s experience with immunization campaigns. It is also worth noting that Chile is partnering with neighboring countries to support the process in the region, sending vaccines to Uruguay, medicines to Ecuador and oxygen to Peru.
