Tana Gilbert
Tana is a filmmaker who graduated from Universidad de Chile, has a diploma in Aesthetics and Philosophy from Universidad Católica de Chile and is currently finishing her master’s degree in Documentary Ffilmmaking at Universidad de Chile. She has directed a number of renowned documentary short films: “Rest, Zulema” made during her studies, was shown and received awards in several national and international film festivals (Best Documentary Short Film Femcine 2013, Chile). Her latest short film “Sigo acá” (I´m Still Here) was released in Hot Docs 2017 and received various awards (Best Short Film Cine Las Américas, Judges Choice Award MiradasDoc, etc). Currently, she is starting her career as a documentary film director focusing on social matters related to the role of women in the Chilean context. In 2019, she was selected to participate in the IDFAcademy, a prestigious program for emerging directors at IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam) with her first documentary feature film “Malqueridas”.

Claudia Barril
Claudia holds a degree in Sociology from Universidad de Chile with a Postgraduate Diploma in Sociology and credits towards her doctorate at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS) in Paris. Since 2005, she has worked as a director, researcher, writer and producer of documentaries and television series at Películas del Pez, a production company of which she is a founding member. She directed the documentary feature film “En defensa propia” (In Self Defense) (2009), released at the Santiago International Documentary Film Festival (FIDOCS), and shown at numerous festivals. This film reflects on the feelings of insecurity of a group of women and how they organize a committee on citizen security and prevention. Together with Sebastián Moreno, she also directed the feature length documentary “Habeas Corpus” (2014) which had a wide distribution. As producer, researcher and co-screenwriter she made the documentaries “La ciudad de los fotógrafos” (The City of Photographers) (2006), “Guerrero” (Warrior) (2015) and other commissioned productions. She is now preparing the release of the documentary feature film and 4-episode television series “Sergio Larraín, el instante eterno” (Sergio Larraín, the eternal moment) (Sebastían Moreno) which is being produced at Películas del Pez.

Constanza Fernández
Constanza Fernández graduated in Economics from the Universidad Católica and has a master’s degree in Literature and Screenwriting from Universidad de Chile. Her opera prima “A Map for a Talk” (2012) received the prize for Best Director at SANFIC, and was one of the first Chilean LGBT movies to be sold to the UK and the USA. Her short film “No me pidas que no lo lamente” (Don’t ask me not to be sorry) was nominated for the Pedro Sienna Awards in the year 2009. In 2009 she founded her own production company CELOSA with which she has worked extensively in creative industries producing music festivals, theatrical plays, dance, published books, in addition to all of the audiovisual work. At the moment, her second fictional feature film, “El pa(de)ciente”, starring Héctor Noguera, is in post-production and will be released in 2021.

Voluspa Jarpa
Voluspa Jarpa holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Fine Arts from Universidad de Chile, a master’s degree in Visual Arts from Universidad de Chile and a master’s degree in Arts from Universidad Católica de Chile. In addition to being a professor at Universidad Católica School of Arts, Voluspa has produced significant artistic works since the beginning of the 90s, including paintings, installations and sculptures. She is known as one of the most important artists of her generation, and is currently one of Chile's artists with greatest presence on international circuits. She participated in the Havana Biennial 1996 (Cuba); Shanghai Biennale (2013); 8th Mercosur Biennial (2011); 12th Istanbul Biennial (2011); and 31st Biennial of Sao Paulo (2014). In 2019, she represented Chile in the 58th Venice Biennale. In addition to these events, Voluspa’s works have been exhibited in important museums and cultural centers in Latin America, Europe and Asia. In 2016, she became the first Chilean artist to be invited to have a solo show at Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aires (MALBA). In 2020, she was the recipient of the Julius Baer Award, which recognizes Latin American female artists for their innovation, research and influence on contemporary art.

Isabel Behncke
Isabel Behncke studied Zoology and has a Master’s degree in Wildlife Conservation from University College in London, MPhil in Human Evolution from University of Cambridge, and Ph.D. in Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology from Oxford University. Isabel has focused her work mainly in the areas of research which allows her to understand the features of human social behavior. Her doctorate from Oxford led her to spend 3 years in the jungle in the Congo; an experience that would soon turn her into a world expert on Bonobos, a species of primates that are practically cousins to humans as far as genetics go. Through decades of work, study, research and widely recognized publications, today Isabel is one of the most important primatologists in the world. Her scientific and social research into the behavior of these primates are intended to understand the causes of human behavior based on their roots, and understand the natural mechanisms of the social relationship between our species, its surroundings and environment. She is currently a member of a research group in Social Evolutionary Neuroscience at Oxford University as well as at the Center for Research on Social Complexity (CICS) at Universidad del Desarrollo.

Julieta Martínez
17 year old Julieta is a student and founder of the collaborative platform Tremendas, which she uses to stimulate the empowerment and development of young and teenage girls, inviting them to put their skills and talents at the service of the community. In addition, she is cofounder of the organization Latinas for Climate, an international network of young Latin American activists for climate action from a gender perspective. She is a member of the UN Youth Task Force on generating equality, and part of Ashoka Chile’s network of Young Agents for Change. During COP25 in 2019, she was selected by the United Nations as one of 4 youth Speakers at the High Level Event on Action for Climate Empowerment. In January 2020, she participated in the Women’s Summit of Latin America and the Caribbean as part of the delegation of UN Women Chile, and in September of the same year, she was certified as Climate Leader in the program Climate Reality directed by Al Gore.

Paula Jofré
Paula studied Astronomy at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and earned her doctorate degree in Natural Science at Ludwig Maximilian University and the Max Plank Institute for Astrophysics in Germany. After seven years working as a postdoctoral researcher at the astrophysics laboratory of the University of Bordeaux in France, and later at the Institute of Astronomy and King´s College at Cambridge University, Paula came to be a renowned expert in galactic astronomy. Her areas of study include the chemistry of galaxies and the analysis of stellar atmospheres in order to understand the structures and physical processes that make up the Milky Way, where she has also worked on the elaboration of the first “family tree of stars”. Paula has been selected as one of the top 100 Chilean women leaders by El Mercurio newspaper and Mujeres Empresarias (Women in Business) in 2011 and 2018, named as one of the 10 Scientists-to-Watch in 2018 by Science News, being the only Latin American on the list, and recognized by Time Magazine in 2019 as one of the top 100 most influential people in the world. Currently, Paula is an associate professor at the Astronomy Nucleus of Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) where she directs the research group “Galactic Paleontology”.

Carolina Bazán
Carolina studied to become a chef and in 2003, together with her family, opened the first Restaurant Ambrosia in downtown Santiago. Today it is one of the best restaurants in Latin America and is ranked in the top five in Chile. In 2013, Carolina was voted Chef of the Year by the Círculo de Cronistas Gastronómicos (Circle of Gastronomic Chroniclers), and Revelation Chef that same year by Wikén Magazine. In the 2019 version of Latin America´s 50 Best Restaurants, Carolina was chosen best Latin American chef in the category “Latin America´s Best Female Chef 2019”. These achievements and processes are shared with her life companion and business partner, Rosario Onetto, who is a sommelier and with whom she has become an important figure and reference in Chilean signature cuisine, helping to internationally rank Chile in tourism and gastronomic experiences.

Fernanda Vicente
Fernanda is a journalist who received her degree from the Universidad Diego Portales, holds a master´s degree in Innovation from Universidad Católica (UC) and also graduated from the Exponential Foundation Program from Singularity University in the United States. She is president and cofounder of Mujeres del Pacífico (Women from the Pacific), a B corporation specializing in female entrepreneurship and which was chosen in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 as one of the “Best for the World” companies by B Lab International and in 2018 as a “Changemaker” company. Fernanda is also former director of the Asociación de Emprendedores de América Latina (Latin American Entrepreneurs Association, ASELA) and of Chile (ASECH). She is a member of CORFO´s (Chilean Economic Development Agency) Entrepreneurship Advisory Council, ProChile´s Innovation Council and the Innovation Club. She is also mentor for the G100 Pro Entrepreneurship Corporation, and cofounder of Kodea Foundation, Editorial Viral publishing house, 101Monkeys, Inmobilia and Dealart, among others. Fernanda is recipient of the “Woman of the Decade, Creating a Better World for All” award conferred by the Women Economic Forum and is professor of Innovation at Universidad Católica (UC), Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH) and Universidad Finis Terrae. She was also recognized among the top 100 Women Leaders in Chile by the El Mercurio newspaper. Fernanda was world finalist and Latin American winner of the global contest on innovation and social impact of the Visa Everywhere Initiative. She serves on the boards of directors for CORFO’s Sé Santiago Smart Cities Program, Base Pública, Mujer Impacta awards, Scotiabank, Nexus and Constructora LD.

Komal Dadlani
Komal holds a degree in biochemistry from the Universidad de Chile and is the co-founder of Lab4You, an app for smartphones and tablets that transforms devices into a comprehensive science laboratory. The app addresses children’s lack of access to laboratories, providing a low-cost solution for improving education in the sciences and allowing students to conduct experiments with their own devices. Lab4U is available in Latin America and the United States and there are over 120,000 students using this app to study science. In 2015 she received the Cartier Women’s Initiative Award; in 2017 she received a Toyota Mothers of Invention Award; in 2018 she was named one of the top 35 leaders under 35 in Latin America by the MIT Technology Review; and in 2020 she was named Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Considered a global example of meaningful entrepreneurship, her work has been featured in media outlets such as The New York Times, Forbes, People Magazine, the BBC and others.

Graciela Huinao
Graciela Huinao (Tiger claw) is a Mapuche Williche poet and storyteller. She was born in Rahue, a working-class neighborhood in the city of Osorno, and her ancestors come from the Walinto community. Experiences with discrimination and racism led her to begin writing at a young age. After the death of her mother when Graciela was 13 years old, melancholy intensified her need to write. Following her father’s death, she moved to Santiago. Working as a domestic worker, in a supermarket and in a bakery, she was able to save enough money to publish her poems and stories. Her father did not teach her to speak Mapudungún because he did not want her to be beaten at school as he had been. She subsequently studied the language with the linguist and teacher Clara Antinao in order to publish her writings in her ancestral language. In 1987 she published her first poem “La Loika,” which was published in the United States in 1994. In 2014 she became the first indigenous woman named to the Academia Chilena de la Lengua (Chilean Language Academy). Today, her poetry, stories and novels have been translated into many different languages around the world. In connection with her literary work, she has been invited to speak in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Colombia, Macedonia, Nicaragua, the United States, China, Spain, Guatemala and Bolivia.

Fernanda Contreras
Fernanda Contreras is the co-founder of Gamaga, an independent company that develops videogames for users all across the globe. A spokesperson at numerous national and international business events, including the global economic summit in 2020, she is a leading presence in the creative and videogame development industries. Featured in the 2018 book, “Women in Gaming: 100 Professionals of Play”, Fernanda is known for her commitment to creating equal opportunities for women and for inspiring entrepreneurs to dare to create their own start-ups and videogame projects.
