Chile decrees its first National Day of Indigenous Peoples | Marca Chile

The Chilean Congress approved this Thursday a bill that declares for the first time in history the National Day of Indigenous Peoples, at a time when the demands of indigenous peoples are in public debate more than ever.

By 124 votes in favor and only one against, the Congress gave the green light to the bill that establishes that this year the holiday will be June 21, but from 2022 it will depend on the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere.
