Step 1 – Melt 1/2 cup sugar In a small pot over medium heat until a caramel forms. Remove from heat and pour into a baking dish, covering the bottom and some of the edges, then set aside.
Step 2 – Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 3 – Mix the rest of the sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla extract together in a bowl. Pour the mixture into the baking dish over the caramel.
Step 4 – Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then uncover and bake for another 20 minutes or until browned. Turn off the oven and allow the dessert to cool inside of it. Serve the leche asada with caramel.
