Step 1 – Heat butter in a saucepan and sauté onion over medium heat until translucent. Add the jerky and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour in 3 cups cold water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
Step 2 – Mix the breadcrumbs with the cream in a bowl. Add to the saucepan. Season with salt and pepper and cook until slightly thickened, stirring constantly.
Step 3 – Preheat oven to high (200°C / 390°F).
Step 4 – Distribute chopped potatoes and egg wedges into individual bowls suitable for the oven and cover with the jerky mixture. Sprinkle the surface with grated cheese and bake until bubbling. Serve immediately.
