Step 1 – Cook sugar and butter in a pan on medium heat, stirring until golden.
Step 2 – Add rice and mix well.
Step 3 – Add 6 cups cold water and cinnamon sticks and cook on medium heat until rice is soft. Add condensed milk and cook, stirring constantly.
Step 4 – In a separate bowl, beat the egg with 200 g (7 oz) evaporated milk. Add the remaining milk and raisins/sultanas to this mix and pour onto the rice in the saucepan. Stir and cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 5 – Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Serve cold, sprinkled with ground cinnamon.
