Spicy Crab

Spicy Crab | Marca Chile

  • 1 kg (2 lbs 3 oz) cooked crab meat
  • 2 rolls
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 large onion, cubed
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp fresh oregano
  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 3 tbsp ground green chili pepper
  • ½ kg (1 lb 2 oz) new potatoes, cooked in their skin and peeled
  • 1 cup cream, ½ cup grated cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Crab claws and finely chopped parsley for garnish


  • Step 1 – Shred and clean the crab meat, removing pieces of claw or shell, then set aside.
  • Step 2 – Separately, soak the bread in milk for 15 minutes. Combine using your hands and set aside.
  • Step 3 – Sweat the onion in butter in a pan. Add the minced garlic, paprika and oregano. Add the oyster sauce and a little water. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the onion is translucent. Add the soaked bread and mix well. Cook for a few minutes over low heat.
  • Step 4 – Add the crab meat and ground green chili pepper. Finally, add the potatoes, cream and grated cheese and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and place in individual clay bowls.
  • Step 5 – Garnish with hot crab claws and a hardboiled egg mixed with chopped parsley. Serve hot.
