Steamed Mussels

INGREDIENTES

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 white onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled
  • 1 tsp whole black pepper
  • 1 celery stick
  • 1½ kg (3 lbs 5 oz) mussels
  • 1 cup white wine
  • Fresh cilantro for decoration

INSTRUCCIONES

  • Step 1 – Wash mussels thoroughly in cold water, then drain and refrigerate.
  • Step 2 – Heat oil in a saucepan and sauté the onion and garlic. Add celery, pepper and mussels.
  • Step 3 – Turn up the heat and pour in the white wine. Cook for 5 minutes or until the mussel shells open.
  • Step 4 – Serve hot, sprinkled with cilantro leaves.
