Rodrigo Valdés

Minister of Finance

He holds a business degree with a specialization in economics from the Universidad de Chile and a Ph.D. in economics from MIT.
Prior to his appointment as Minister, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive
Committee of BancoEstado.
From 2013 until 2014 he was the chief economist for the Andean Region and Argentina at BTG Pactual Investment bank.
Between 2009 and 2012 he worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C. He served as the Deputy Director for Europe, where he oversaw the work of the IMF in various countries including Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as Deputy Director for the Western Hemisphere, where he was also Mission Chief for the United States.
In 2008 and 2009, he was the Chief Economist for Latin America at Barclays Capital Inc. in New York, where he specialized in Chile, Brazil and Mexico.
From 2002 until 2007 he was Manager of the Research Division and Chief Economist of the Central Bank of Chile. He was a senior advisor to the Central Bank on economic policy issues and Manager of the Research Division. He was responsible for the Monetary Policy Report, macroeconomic analysis and projections, monitoring the global economy, and technical coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
In 2000 and 2001 he was the Economic Policy Coordinator at the Ministry of Finance. He was the Senior Advisor to the Minister on economic policy issues and was responsible for macroeconomic coordination with the Central Bank.
He has been a consultant with the IMF and the Inter‐American Development Bank, he has taught classes at the Universidad de Chile and the Universidad de Santiago, and he has a long list of academic and economic policy publications.

Luis Felipe Céspedes

Luis Felipe Céspedes

Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism

Luis Felipe Céspedes has a doctorate in economics from New York University and holds a degree in economics from the Universidad Católica de Chile. He is married with three children.
Working in the public sector, he has been the Economic Policy Coordinator and Chief Economic Advisor to the Ministry of Finance. He was also Economic Research Manager at the Central Bank of Chile. Between 2012 and February 2014, he was part of the Technical Council on Investments, a body that administers the investment of funds from the pension and unemployment systems.
At the time he was appointed minister, he was a professor in the Business School at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. He has also taught at the Universidad de Chile and the Universidad Católica.
During his professional career, he has been a researcher at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), at the Inter-American Development bank and at Rutgers University. He has published several research papers on topics in his area of expertise in prestigious international economic journals and has provided analysis of economic issues in the local press. He has edited two books and the academic journal Economía Chilena.

Ernesto Ottone

Minister of Culture and Head of the National Council for Culture and the Arts

He holds a degree in the arts, is an actor, and has a Master’s degree in Management of Cultural Policies and Institutions. He is a political independent.
Prior to his appointment, he was the Director of the Center for Arts and Culture at the Universidad de Chile, the institution responsible for the Symphony Orchestra of Chile, the Chilean National Ballet, the Camerata Vocal Symphonic Choir of the Universidad de Chile, the Andrés Bello quartet and the Teatro Universidad de Chile.
He served as Executive Director of the Museo de la Solidaridad Salvador Allende from 2010 until 2011.
He founded and was Executive Director of the Centro Matucana 100 and the Corporación Cultural Matucana Cien from 2001 until 2010.
Between 1998 and 2000, he served as Head of Programming for Teatro Casa Amarilla.

M. María Errázuriz

Secretary to the Board of Directors

She has been a member of presidential councils on social security reform, labor reform and equality.
She has worked as an advisor to the Ministry of Education, as the Vice President of ComunidadMujer, Director of ProHumana, and has been a member of the advisory committee at Universidad Alberto Hurtado.
She is a sociologist from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile with a specialization in gender issues and social co-existence. She founded and headed the AguaViva center, an organization dedicated to human development training.
Her initial research projects were carried out at ECLAC and she later worked for international organizations like Unicef and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

Ronald Bown

With widespread knowledge in trade association representation, he heads the Chilean Exporters Association (Asoex), which represents the producers of fruit and fresh produce.
He has been President of the National Corporation of Exporters, a member of the Chile Pacific Foundation and the Public-Private Committee for International Economic Relations.
He also sat on the board of the Agricultural Export Promotion Fund, the Public-Private Imagen-País Council and the Food Exporter Council.
He has a degree in business from the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. He has also been General Manager of Laboratorio Chile and Director of Marketing at Shering-Plough.

claudia bobadilla

Claudia Bobadilla

A lawyer from the Universidad Diego Portales, she is Executive Vice President of the Network of High-Ranking Executives in the School of Business at the Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD). Since 2010, this network has supported the leaders of various organizations through the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experiences.
She is one of the founders of ComunidadMujer, an organization which she also led. The object of this organization is to propose ways of increasing women’s involvement in the working world; reconcile family and work, and contribute to developing best practices in the workplace.
Claudia Bobadilla was also Manager of the Fundación País Digital and sat on the board of directors for Banco Santander Chile. She has been a member of the Advisory Council of Associated Universities, Inc. (AUI) in Chile (linked with the ALMA observatory), the National Innovation Council and the Karukinka Project (Wild Life Conservation Society).

Carlos Catalán

A sociologist from the Universidad Católica, he also has a graduate degree in sociology from the Università Degli Studi di Romaha.
He has served as Director of the Center for Cultural Studies and Artistic Expression (Ceneca), and has been an academic, researcher and board member with many universities.
He has also sat on the Sociology Committee of the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (Fondecyt) and the National Television Council (CNTV).

Constanza Cea

A journalist from the Universidad Católica de Chile, she has worked for various media outlets both in Chile and in the United States, including Canal 13, El Mercurio, Grupo de Diarios de América and AméricaEconomía.
As Corporate Director of the Fundación País Digital, she has led technology tours to Silicon Valley, India and China, bringing individuals from the public, private and academic realms in contact with pioneering experiences so that they may learn about and introduce advanced technologies in Chile, especially in the area of education.
She was also an advisor to former President Sebastián Piñera on issues related to international image and oversaw relations between the president and the foreign press, accompanying him on all of his international visits and meetings.

Óscar G. Garretón

A business graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, he specialized in Business Administration. He is the President of Fepasa, an affiliate of Sigdo Koppers, and from 2007 until 2010, he headed Fundación Chile.
His resumé recounts his experiences as President of several firms such as Metro de Santiago, CTC, Iansa and Puerto Ventanas.
He was a partner and director at the Grupo Access de Telecomunicaciones and Tech-One and Invertec IGT, among other organizations.
He is a regular speaker at business and academic seminars and routinely writes newspaper columns.

miguel laborde

Miguel Laborde

An academic and author, he has conducted significant research on historical topics related to architecture and urbanism.
He is the Cultural Director of the Lastarria Observatory and runs Revista Universitaria at the Universidad Católica.
He is a professor of urbanism at the Universidad Diego Portales and is an honorary member of the College of Architects. He is also President of the NGO Instituto Río Colorado. He sits on the boards of the Chilean Cultural Heritage Corporation and the Chilean Historical and Geographical Society.
Among his numerous publications are the books Santiago, lugares con historia; Santiago, región capital de Chile; and La selva fría y sagrada.

Hernán Larraín

A lawyer from the Universidad Finis Terrae, he has a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the London School of Economics.
As an expert in communications policy, he has served as a professor and researcher in the School of Government at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. In 2009 he was the General Marketing Coordinator for the Sebastián Piñera presidential campaign.
After having served as a communications advisor to President Sebastián Piñera, he became the Executive Director of the newly-established think tank Horizontal in early 2013.

Juan Pablo del Río

An architect from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, he is President of Sodimac and Derco.
He is Director of the corporate groups Dercorp and Dersa and is a partner in Industrias Duromármol, Inversiones y Construcciones D Y D, Inmobiliaria Delsa and Constructora Santa María.

Álvaro Fischer

A graduate of The Grange School, he has a degree in mathematical engineering from the Universidad de Chile. He is married to the ophtalmologist Ximena Katz and has three children.
He is President and co-founder of the Resiter group of companies, which provide technical environmental solutions to industrial, food and mining companies. He founded and was the Director of the Clínica Las Nieves, as well as a shareholder and President of SMB Factoring. He has served as a director in companies in which he was not a shareholder, such as ST Computación, Salcobrand and Grange School SA., FASA and currently at Cruz Blanca Salud.
In the public sector, he was President of Fundación Chile and headed the Institute of Engineers of Chile (2000-2001) and served as Dean of the Universidad Tecnológica de Chile Inacap (2005). He has also sat on the Chilean National Innovation Council for Competitiveness and the Business Council in the School of Government at the UDD.
As an academic, he is a member of the Human Behavior and Evolution Society, the New York Academy of Science. He also heads the Science and Evolution Foundation and has taught classes at the Universidad de Chile.
He has authored the books Evolución…el nuevo paradigma (Universitaria, 2001); Nuevos Paradigmas a Comienzos del Tercer Milenio (El Mercurio-Aguilar, 2004) and La Mejor Idea Jamás Pensada (Ediciones B, 2009).

Fernando Reyes Matta

Fernando Reyes Matta has had a long career as a diplomat, university professor and international specialist in journalism and communications. Since 2011, he has been the Director of the Center for Latin American Studies on China (CELC) at the Universidad Andrés Bello, of which he was also a founding member. Prior to that he was Ambassador of Chile to the People’s Republic of China (2006-2010).
He studied history and geography at the Universidad de Chile and has a graduate degree from the Political Science Institute at the Universidad Católica de Chile. He was a professor at the School of Journalism at the Universidad Católica de Chile (1964-1973) and at the Universidad Andrés Bello (1990-1997). He has also been a visiting professor at diverse institutions abroad, including Stanford University, the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and the Universidad Autónoma de México.
Furthermore, during his diplomatic career he was the International Press Advisor to President
Ricardo Lagos (2000-2006), Ambassador to New Zealand (1997-2000) and Director of Cultural Affairs and Information at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1994-1996).

Eugenio Tironi

Eugenio Tironi has a Ph.D. in sociology from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris. His professional career includes positions in the business world and academia, with an emphasis on civil society organizations. He is Director of the Paz Ciudadana and Elige Educar foundations.
He founded and was Executive Director and researcher at SUR. He also served as Director of Cieplan. He is part of the Higher Council of the Universidad Alberto Hurtado and has taught at numerous universities both in Chile and abroad.
In the public sector, he was Director of Content for the “Franja del No” (TV segments for the No campaign) and then became Director of Communications for the Patricio Aylwin Administration (1990-1994).
In the private sector, he founded TIRONI Asociados in 1994 and serves as Executive President. He has also been the President of Gestión Social S.A. since it was originally founded.
He has authored, co-authored or edited more than 29 books and has written columns for various newspapers and journals for 30 years. He currently writes for the newspaper El Mercurio and in 2011 he was awarded the Excellence in Journalism Prize, in the Opinion category, by the Universidad Alberto Hurtado.

Carmen Romero

Director of the Fundación Teatro a Mil and the Festival Internacional Santiago a Mil. Her work has focused on developing projects designed to transform the city of Santiago and ease access to cultural events. These include the Festival Internacional Santiago a Mil (1994-2014), the Teatro Hoy series (2011-2014) and a branch of the Festival Internacional de Buenos Aires in Chile (2011 and 2013).
She has been an important promoter of Latin American networks and a strategic consultant on major cultural projects. In 2004, she created the Fundación Teatro a Mil, an institution dedicated to: 1) creating and carrying out cultural projects of excellence that draw new audiences; 2) training and improving opportunities for artists; 3) and taking national stage productions overseas to major cultural centers around the world. The foundation has been a pioneer in this area, continuing to carry out this line of work and creating a broad global network for institutional collaboration.

Jorge Rosenblut

Jorge Rosenblut holds a degree in civil engineering from the Universidad de Chile and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government.
He was President of Endesa Chile (2009-2014) and Chilectra (2000-2009). He has also been a board member for other Chilean companies including Ripley and Cuprum.
Furthermore, has held positions in several educational institutions, businesses and advisory committees in Chile and the United States, including the board of directors for the Institute of the Americas and the advisory committee for the Center for International Studies at the Universidad Católica de Chile.
From 1990 until 1996, he was Undersecretary of Telecommunications and Undersecretary of the Presidency for the Chilean government.

Paulina Riveros

Cuenta con experiencia en el ámbito público y privado, en gestión financiera y operacional.

Anterior a la Fundación, se desempeñó por 4 años en IBM de Chile, en el área de Operaciones de Negocio y Operaciones de Ventas, liderando la gestión administrativa y operacional de proyectos de Servicios.

Además trabajó en Innova Chile de CORFO en el área de Control de Gestión y Sistemas de la institución, siendo contraparte para DIPRES y para la Gerencia de Sistemas de CORFO.

Ana Cifuentes

Coordinator of Finance and Management Control

She holds a degree in Information and Management Control Engineering from the Universidad de Chile.
Her professional experience in the private sector includes working as a LATAM Administration Analyst and working with ACE Group, an insurance company, overseeing and coordinating internal expenditures, and following-up on events and partnership agreements for the region. Previously, she was part of the Management Control and Mortgage Servicing team as a Management Control Analyst at BBVA, where she developed tool control policies for mortgage operations and leasing.
She joined the Foundation in March 2015.

Natalia Irarrázabal

General Administrato

She graduated with a degree in Public Administration from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile in 2014 with knowledge of Administrative Law, Public Policies and a great calling for public service.
She completed her internship at the Public Prosecutor’s Office- Center North Metropolitan Region in the Management and Informatics Unit, providing follow-up and evaluating internal projects on delivering services to users and improving those services provided by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. She had previously carried out administrative duties at the CEPECH college preparation institute and CAPSIS Consulting Ltda. for a period of about 6 months at each institution.

Jacqueline Infante

Secretary

An executive secretary trained at the Manpower technical school, with studies in public relations and commercial writing.
Previously, she worked at the Communication Consulting Unit of the Public Prosecutor’s Office where she was in charge of the lawsuit archives, planning international travel and organizing events and seminars, among other duties.
Between 1995 and 2001, she was the head of media and human resources management at Courbis Publicidad. She then worked at the Chilean National Mining Corporation (Enami), holding positions in the Legal Department, the Management Department and the Public Prosecutor’s Office Department.

Lorena Ferrera

Assistant to the Executive Director

She studied Public Relations at the Los Leones Professional Institute as well as Executive Secretary Computer Training.
She has been employed in the private sector, working as a secretary at Universidad Diego Portales, coordinating board procedures at the Schools of Obstetrics and Neonatology and Kinesiology. She was an Administrative Assistant for Graduate Programs and developed and performed similar duties at the School of Education. She had previously held positions in nonprofit institutions such as the Fundación Emmanuel, under the Archbishopric of Santiago.
She joined the Foundation in October 2015.

Jorge Rojas

Coordinator of Information Technology

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in Informatics from Universidad de Santiago de Chile specializing in Microsoft development platforms such as .Net Framework 3.5 and 4.0 y SQL Server. He participated in the analysis, planning, design (architecture and database), development and implementation of the Foundation’s digital platform, which is comprised of its official website and the official Chilean web portal.
Previously, he worked on projects for public and private institutions such as Codelco, BancoEstado, El Mercurio, Banco del Desarrollo and Banco Santander-Chile.
Among his achievements are participation in the creation of the On-line Processes Integration System for Codelco´s Chuqicamata mine, using resources such as Visual Studio .NET, C# and Oracle.

Camila Salas

Communications Manager

A journalist, she holds a Bachelor´s degree in social communications from the Universidad Católica de Chile and has experience in strategic communications in both the public and private sectors.
Prior to her arrival at Fundación Imagen de Chile, she was head of the Customers and Communications Department of the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), coordinating the team in charge of press relations, internal communications, customer relations and marketing. Before that, she was the head of the Sub-department for Internal Communications.
She was a part of the Public Affairs team at the Burson Marsteller Agency, advising notable clients on corporate communications, positioning strategies and crisis management. She joined the Foundation in September of 2014.

Jose Luis Alarcon

National Press and Public Relations Coordinator

A journalist from the Universidad Católica de Chile, with a diploma in Audience Studies and Strategic Communications and a Master’s degree in Documentaries from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (Spain).
He has more than 10 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, working at the Interior Ministry and the General Secretariat for Government Ministry, communications agencies and providing consulting services to NGOs and companies in areas such as communications, studies, marketing, the role of the spokesperson and public affairs, among others.
In 2007, he also obtained a Fondart Bicentennial grant for $98 million (CLP) to develop Teatro Camino (with Héctor Noguera).
He joined the Foundation in March of 2015.

Pía Moya

Press and Public Relations Coordinator

A journalist, she holds a Bachelor’s degree from Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master’s degree in Tourism, Environment and Development from Kíng’s College London and a Diploma in Strategic Communications from Universidad Diego Portales.
She has vast experience in issues pertaining to international promotion thanks to her role as Head of Communications for Turismo Chile, an institution responsible for positioning Chile as a tourist destination. She also oversaw the development and execution of the Communications Plan for the Innovation Program on Sustainable Tourism, a public-private initiative aimed at promoting sustainability policies for the national tourism industry.
She previously worked for the La Tercera newspaper and at Devilat Comunicaciones in charge of the Santander, Entel and Kaufmann accounts.
She joined the Foundation in August of 2015.

Victor Palma

Coordinator for Nation Branding

He has a Bachelor’s degree in advertising with a concentration in marketing and holds a Master’s degree in marketing from Universidad del Desarrollo and a diploma in Digital Advertising Strategies from Universidad del Pacífico.
He has worked in the marketing departments of retail services companies and in the country’s leading advertising agencies for brands such as CMR Falabella, Falabella, Paris, Cencosud, Ripley, Canal 13, La Araucana, Farmacias Ahumada, Gobierno de Chile, Derco, Henkel, GNC, Cervecerías Chile, among others.
He has experience in planning and implementing notable advertising campaigns and brand building.

Jessica Matus

Legal Manager

With a law degree from the Universidad de Chile, with a specialization in Administrative Law and TIC’s, she has broad experience in the public sector. A Master´s candidate in Law and New Technologies, holds a diploma in Informatics Law.
Prior to her arrival at Fundación Imagen de Chile, she held leadership positions at the Ministry of Mining, e National Institute of Statistics, the Ministry of Justice and, among other public offices, CORFO and the Council for Transparency. Jessica Matus is also a professor at the School of Law at Universidad Alberto Hurtado and co-founder of the NGO Datos Protegidos. She joined the foundation in February of 2016.

Jorge Cortés

Manager of Finance and Information Technology

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Industrial Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has a Diploma in Computer Sciences, a Diploma in Customer Intelligence from the Universidad de Chile and a Global MBA from the same institution in addition to graduate studies in marketing at the Sung Kyun Kwan University, South Korea.
For more than 8 years he has been working with important companies in the public and private sectors, he has directed multidisciplinary teams and has gained experience in marketing, information technology and administering digital platforms.
During his professional career he has been Head of Information Systems and Management Control at Innova Chile – Corfo, Head of Supply and Logistics at LATAM Airlines Grou,p and Senior Product Manager at Banco Santander Chile.
He is currently the Manager of Finance and Information Technology at Imagen de Chile

Carlos Roth

Coordinator of Digital Projects

Due to his experience in content management and development, positioning (SEO), online marketing (SEM), web analysis, information architecture and user experiences, he is the coordinator of digital projects.
For seven years he administered the website for the Chile Production Development Corporation (Corfo).
Carlos Roth has a Diploma in Digital Content Development and Management from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and he specialized in digital design at the Universidad de Chile.

Paulina Hidalgo

Deputy Manager for ChileGlobal

A journalist, she has a Bachelor’s degree in social communication from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. She was deputy editor and was in charge of interviews for the Saque Partido a su Dinero show at Canal 13 Cable and also served as editor for the initial TV campaign for the Asociación de Fondos Mutuos “Piensa a Fondo, Piensa en Fondos.” She has also collaborated independently with Publimetro and Revista City.
Before graduating, she began working on the news program at La Red TV network. Later, she headed up communications for the “Juegos del Pacífico” project for the Chilean Olympic Committee, as editor of the TodoMed.com website and Saludable 2000 magazine. For seven years she was the Project Editor at Editorial Santiago, a position that was followed by a stint in the Communications and Marketing Department of FIT Stock Exchange Brokers.
She holds a diploma in Science, Technology and Environment from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile and a diploma in Corporate Communications from Universidad Católica.

Pablo Carvajal

Coordinator for ChileGlobal

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration from the Universidad de Valparaíso. He is a Masters candidate in Management for Globalization – Global MBA, Universidad de Chile, and has pursued graduate studies at Sung Kyun Kwan University, South Korea.
He was a Foreign Currency Executive at Banco de Chile, in charge of the large company segment. He evaluated projects and carried out risk-analysis. He was part of multidisciplinary teams aimed at providing quality services. He tracked and evaluated customer loyalty and profitability. He discovered business opportunities based on generating trust between the customer and the bank, which translated in mutual and long-lasting benefits.

Fernando Marinovic

Manager for Studies

A sociologist from the Universidad de Chile, he completed graduate studies in Social Research and Markets from the School of Statistics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.
He has been a consultant for ILPES-CEPAL on decentralization and regional planning, as well as Head of Studies for Fundación Futuro and Senior Head of Studies for Adimark-GFK.
In the area of strategic planning, he has been a Planner and Director for BBDO Research at BBDO Chile and a Consultant and Coordinator for R&D with TIRONI | Asociados. He was also a Quantitative Director for Research and Studies Manager for Sismarket.
He joined the Foundation in March of 2015.

Paula Garrido

Studies Analyst

She is a sociologist from the Universidad de Valparaíso. She has vast experience in the areas of cultural public policies and youth leadership thanks to her work in a number of NGOs.
She was Project Director at Fundación País Digital. Previously, she worked with Fundación Futuro as Coordinator of the Survey Bank and with the Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes, editing the Institutional Report for the “Creando Chile en Mi Barrio” program.

Andrés Beroggi

Strategic Marketing Manager

He holds a business degree from the Universidad Católica de Chile and an MBA from the Universidad Adolfo Ibañez. He has vast experience leading teams in multinational companies such as Microsoft and SAP. He has also headed social organizations such as Organizaciones Sociales and Aldeas Infantiles SOS. He specialized in marketing, communications and CSR.
He joined the Foundation in December 2015.

Daniela Sepúlveda

Subgerente de Gestión Marca País

Periodista de la Universidad Diego Portales y diplomada en Políticas Públicas de la Universidad Católica de Chile, especializada en el ámbito de las políticas públicas, específicamente el fomento productivo y la promoción de la innovación y el emprendimiento.

Ha desempeñado su carrera profesional como coordinadora de Comunicaciones en InnovaChile de Corfo (2006-2010) y directora de Comunicaciones y Redes en el Centro de Innovación de Sofofa (SofofaInnova) entre 2010 y 2012. En ambos lugares, estuvo a cargo del desarrollo de iniciativas y ejecución de campañas para viralizar una cultura de la innovación en el país, así como de generar redes para el desarrollo de nuevos negocios.

Daniela Sepúlveda también fue coordinadora general del proyecto del BID-Fomin para la promoción del emprendimiento corporativo en Chile, Argentina y Uruguay, a través del cual se desarrollaron iniciativas de gestión de la innovación en diferentes compañías.

También ha liderado proyectos en el think tank Expansiva y fue periodista en Acción RSE y la revista Lat.33.

Fabián Campos

He holds a business degree from Universidad Católica de Chile and has a clear strategic vision beyond his experiences in marketing and project consultancy with large corporations such as Lan Airlines, Grupo Copesa and L´Oreal Chile.
Previously, he headed the nonprofit social program “Futuro Mejor” at the Liceo de Aplicación High School, which sought to improve the admissions rate of its students into higher education.
While at university, he was known for his excellent academic performance and was a TA and researcher in Statistics and Microeconomics. Meanwhile, he founded a number of start-ups, including an e-commerce magazine, a new area of business in the country. His future-oriented vision and call for community work make this professional a key player in positioning Brand Chile in an ever more competitive national and international scenario

Mildred Hernández

Deputy Manager for Nation Branding Strategies and Partnerships

She is an agronomist from the Universidad de Chile and holds a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Technology Management from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. She was previously the Manager for Business Development at Wageningen UR Chile, an International Center of Excellence, and Director of BMI Gestión Ltda., her own company.
She has also vast experience in creating and strengthening links between the government, academia and industry, including her role as Sectoral Advisor to the Food Industry at InnovaChile CORFO, Campaign Coordinator for ProChile and Head of Processes for JUNAEB. Working in the Food Industry, she helped design numerous strategies for a number of subsectors. She has also taught in a number of graduate programs at Universidad de Chile, among other activities.

David González

Coordinator for Strategy and Partnerships

He holds a business degree from Universidad Mayor, with a minor in International business and business management.
Previously, he was Head of the Strategic Analysis Unit at the Ministry of Labor, where he developed the nationwide On-Line Supervision Plan; he was also a Cabinet Advisor at the Ministry of Social Development, creating Control Platforms that were adopted by the ministry’s five related services. He is also Director General of Movebook, a brand that offers creative content related to entertainment and innovation.

Matías González

Coordinator for Nation Branding

He holds a business degree from the Universidad de Chile and has 5 years of experience in strategic marketing, branding and project management.
He was Product Manager at Equifax Chile, in charge of the company’s main product lines, responsible for maintenance, follow-up and design of new services and products.
He was then Head of Strategic Marketing for two and a half years, implementing an international, across-the-board project for the company on modernizing and optimizing information management. He was also a professor in the School of Engineering and Technology at Universidad San Sebastián, working in areas linked to entrepreneurship and new technology development.

Leonor De Toro

Coordinator for Strategy and Partnerships

She is an agronomist from the Universidad Católica de Chile, with a specialization in Agricultural Economics. She worked for Wines of Chile in the Planning and Research area, assisting with promotional activities for Chilean Wines in the U.S. and Canada. She was responsible for managing and administering projects in high-priority markets to strengthen the image and positioning of Chilean Wines. She has been certified by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
Leonor is interested in project management as well as various cultural activities, such as contemporary dance.

Alejandro Muñoz

Deputy Manager for Design and Production

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad Católica de Chile. Most of his career has been spent in Argentina and the U.S. in the areas of advertising, design, film and illustration. In Buenos Aires, he was Creative Director for FOB-WBC Publicidad and also the Advertising Art Director for Dreyfus Comunicaciones. In the U.S., he worked for 7 years as an illustrator and in post-production for documentary cinema in the Film and TV Department at UCLA.
For 6 years he was also in charge of artistic direction at Revista Surcos de Latinoamérica. As an illustrator, he has worked for several print media outlets, including Rolling Stone, Diario Clarín, Playboy, Revista del Domingo, Diario The Clinic, and Revista Fibra, among others He has also studied architecture and taken graduate course in Aesthetics at the Universidad Católica. As a painter, Alejandro Muñoz has had shows at Galería Animal (Santiago), the Bronx Museum of the Arts (New York), Galería Centoira (Buenos Aires), Galería Martina Céspedes and other venues. For two years, he was a professor at the Fundación Artes Visuales in Buenos Aires.

Mónica Seguel

Coordinator for Strategy and Partnerships

A designer from the Universidad Católica de Chile, she specializes in industrial design. She studied art history, photography and fine arts at the University of Maryland. She has a graduate diploma in Cultural Management and Administration from the Universidad de Chile and has developed a number of initiatives in contemporary art sales and leasing. She has a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology and studied the Psychotherapy of Expressive Arts in TAE, Peru. She is currently studying psychology and has worked in personal coaching as a consultant and facilitator with Cultiva Consultores and Endeavor Chile.
She studied literary analysis for six years with Natalia Roa and has attended multiple creative writing workshops. She was a co-writer on the “Casados” series for Chilevisión, which was nominated for the Altazor prize for best TV script. In 2009, she published her first book, El Color del Agua, Editorial Norma and in 2013 her novel El único placer Editorial Planeta was released.

Bautista Martínez

Coordinator for Audio Visual Projects

A journalist from Universidad Diego Portales, he holds a diploma in Book and Magazine Editing from the same university. He has experience in corporate communications, international branding and audiovisual and editorial projects. He was Communications Coordinator in the Business Promotion Area of CORFO (2005 – 2010), focusing on SMEs and creative industries. Subsequently, he was a Project Executive for International Positioning of Sectoral Brands at ProChile (2010-2013).
Between 2011 and 2013, he was in charge of producing the www.atlasvivodechile.com project, an initiative of the Aplaplac production company for Fundación Imagen de Chile.

Myriam Gómez

Executive Director

Myriam Gómez has been the Executive Director of Imagen de Chile since May 2014. She has a degree in Civil Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Chile, a Master of Science in Technology Management from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, U.S.A., and a Master’s degree in Tourism Economics from the Universita Commerciale Luigi Bocconi, Milan, Italy. She has widespread experience with public policies in the areas of international promotion, innovation and technology.
During her professional career she has been the Deputy Executive Director at InnovaChile – Corfo (2006-2010); Trade Representative for Chile in Milan (1997-2003); General Manager of Turismo Chile and Deputy Director for ProChile. While in these positions, she has been involved in decision-making processes and has created important partnerships with the private sector.
She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Port of Chacabuco, the only commercial port in the Aysén Region, located in the south of Chile. Between 2008 and 2010, she sat on the board of the Port of Antofagasta.
Since April 2016, she has been a member of the Chilean chapter of Women Corporate Directors (WCD), making her part of a network of more than 2000 members who serve on 3,500 corporate boards around the world

Fundación Imagen de Chile statutes

The  mission  of  Imagen  de  Chile  is  to  promote  Chile’s  image  around  the  world,  which  it  does through nation branding.

To this end, it manages Brand Chile by coordinating efforts in all those areas that make significant contributions to the  country’s  image, such  as  culture, sports,  exports,  investment, tourism  and international relations, among others.

This is accomplished by forming alliances with actors from both the public and private sectors in order to synchronize the message regarding Chile and to implement measures that promote our country’s distinctive attributes.

The  Board  of  Directors  of  Imagen  de  Chile  is  headed  by  the  Minister  of  Foreign  Affairs  and  is comprised of 19 distinguished members working  in both the public  and private sectors from  all areas of national life.
