Chile’s Central Bank has reported that economic activity grew a record 20.1% in June, driven by the productive sectors’ adaptation to the pandemic. It also showed a low comparison rate next to the difficult month of June, 2020.
June’s Monthly Economic Activity Index (IMACEC), which anticipates future GDP calculations, was above market expectations. Economic expansion was expected to be between 16% and 19%, thanks to the gradual relaxation of health restrictions put in place due to the pandemic.
