Femcine, a Chilean film festival, is one of Latin America’s most important artistic encounters dedicated to women. The 11th version of the festival starts on Wednesday with more than 70 films directed by women from around the world and will be presented online free of charge.
This year’s event, with dozens of works selected and awarded at Berlinale, the Sundance Film Festival, the Goya Awards or the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “After 11 years, it is still important to make our views and our stories visible by using film as a tool for social transformation and generating dialogue related to equality and diversity,” explained Antonella Estévez, director of the event.
