Social Entrepreneur
Nicolás Shea is the creator of renowned and award-winning public, private and social enterprises. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the Universidad Católica de Chile, a master’s degree in Management from Stanford University, and a master’s degree in Education from Columbia University.
He founded eClass in 2004 to democratize education in Latin America. Over 950,000 students have been trained on this platform so far. Following the 2010 earthquake, he joined the Chilean Government as an innovation and enterprise advisor to the Economy, Development and Tourism Minister, where he created Start-Up Chile, one of Latin America’s leading accelerators. In response to the country’s excessive indebtedness, he founded Cumplo in 2012. Today, it is the region's leading loan platform for SMEs. That same year, he founded ASECH to boost competition in Chile as a government counterpart. He created the Group of 100, a collaborative philanthropic network of Chilean entrepreneurs, in 2018.
Nicolás was nominated to be a Global Youth Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2014 and has won two National Innovation Awards for Start-Up Chile (2011) and Cumplo (2014).
