Chilean National Team Captain and Goalkeeper
Christiane is currently the goalkeeper for Olympique Lyonnais “Lyon” in France and Chile’s Women’s National Team, where she is also captain. She was recently named Best Goalkeeper in the Women's French League by the UNFP and was elected to the Champions League Dream Team. She is also one of 20 players to have been nominated for the Golden Ball.
Her international recognition includes being one of the three players nominated for the FIFA “The Best” awards for the second consecutive year; 2020 recipient of Best Goalkeeper in the World according to the British newspaper The Guardian; one of the FIFPro Women’s World 11 in 2020, which is based on a vote by the world’s women's soccer players and coaches; and a nomination to the UEFA Dream Team.
Christiane has built an important path for the Chilean National Team that includes Copa Sudamericana and Copa América wins. The team’s 2018 victory gave Chile its first Women's Soccer World Cup.
