Entrepreneur in the healthcare field
Jorge Armanet holds a degree in Economics and Agronomy from the Universidad Católica de Chile. He is an entrepreneur in the field of technology and media, with 20 years of international experience in the creation and management of teams and companies focused on new technologies and healthcare.
In 2009, he founded HealthUnlocked, the world’s largest social network for patients, in order to offer a new patient-focused healthcare model as a solution to the global health crisis. Jorge was General Manager of HealthUnlocked, until it was acquired by CorEvitas in October 2020.
Jorge also founded Plataforma Pública in 2000, an open code media laboratory that promotes cultural creativity and ideas. In 2002, he founded the popular network and magazine Hecho en Chile (Made in Chile) as a means to support low-income students. He also founded DO TANK, a technology laboratory, in 2007. DO TANK builds functional prototypes so that the private sector can test and expand new models for online business.
