Goalkeeper for the Olympique Lyonnais “Lyon” team (France) and also for the Chilean national women’s soccer team, of which she is also captain. In 2021, she was recognized as the best female goalkeeper in the world by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), and in 2022 she earned The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award. She was also named the top goalkeeper in the French women’s league by the UNFP and she was drafted to the Ideal Team of the Champions League.
Some highlights among the many international honors Christiane has obtained in her career are being one of only three soccer players to be nominated for FIFA’s “The Best” awards for three years in a row; being named the best goalkeeper in the world in 2020 by British newspaper The Guardian; and in 2020, being chosen one of the FIFA FIFPro Women’s World 11, a ranking voted on by female soccer players and coaches around the world. She was also chosen for the UEFA ideal team.
With the Chilean women’s national team, Endler has led the way to major victories including several South American and Americas’ cups, and in 2018 she helped to earn Chile its first women’s soccer world cup.
